The new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Games between Alabama and Florida State and Tennessee and Georgia Tech, is nearly complete.

After some early delays in the construction process — due to the roof structure, Falcons’ CEO Rich McKay recently said the stadium will be ready prior to the September 2 kickoff between the Crimson Tide and Seminoles.

In addition to the highly anticipated SEC vs. ACC matchups, MBS, as it’s called, will host the SEC Championship Game, the Atlanta Falcons, and the new MLS club Atlanta United FC, in addition to many other one-off events.

The stadium renderings are truly breathtaking, and this new magnificent stadium looks like it will be the home of major SEC events for years to come.

A new photo tweeted by the official stadium account shows just how cool — and complicated — the interior roof structure really is.

Also noteworthy, Gary Stokan, president and CEO of Peach Bowl, Inc., announced that the retractable roof will be closed (for Alabama vs. FSU and Tennessee vs. Georgia Tech) because he’s taking the weather variable off the table.

So, this is the exact view that Alabama and Tennessee fans will see during their week 1 games.
