After Baton Rouge was hit hard with flooding over the weekend, it was initially reported that former LSU announcer Jim Hawthorne and his wife had gone missing. Fortunately the couple has been found safe and rescued, however LSU’s sports information director Michael Bonnette did not receive word of their whereabouts before jumping into a boat to go look for them.

Once on the “road,” Bonnette received word Hawthorne was safely found and decided to instead help those in need suffering from the aftermath of the flooding. Here he is helping this young man:

Bonnette even took a selfie as his boat was about to run a red light on the “road” in Baton Rouge.

It’s pretty amazing to see the comradery of those affected by the flooding in Louisiana over the weekend.
