Robert Tucker, the South Carolina tight end who had to quit football due to health issues, tweeted a thank-you note to Gamecock fans Wednesday.

“It really hurts to know that I can no longer play the game that I love,” he wrote before concluding with, “Thanks for the love and support.”
South Carolina coach Will Muschamp announced Tuesday that Tucker was ending his football career due to hereditary problems with his neck. The former three-star prospect will remain in school and stay involved with the team in some capacity.
