Upset shocker: Pittsburgh upsets No. 2 Miami during Rivalry Week
By SDS Staff

Rivalry Week has been a nightmare for two ranked teams so far.
Thursday night, Ole Miss shocked No. 14 Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl 31-28, and Saturday, unranked Pittsburgh upset No. 2 Miami 24-14. The Panthers have a knack for knocking off top teams. Remember, last year, Pitt upset eventual national champion No. 2 Clemson, too.
With the Hurricanes now with one loss, a win over Clemson in the ACC Championship Game could make things very interesting with respect to the College Football Playoff.
So, the Canes certainly aren’t out of it yet, but this certainly hurts their chances.
With two ranked teams already upset, all eyes will be on No. 1 Alabama at No. 6 Auburn Saturday.
Here are some of the best reactions to Miami losing to Pittsburgh:
Will say this, if Miami is to somehow shock Clemson and win the ACC Championship, it might be the weakest CFB Playoff team of all time. 2015 Michigan State-ish.

Miami’s loss here doesn’t change much. Hurricanes had to beat Clemson in ACC title game to make playoff for sure. Does kill 2 teams for ACC.

Bye-bye Miami….Pitt shocking the Canes. Could a 1 loss Miami team get in if they beat Clemson?! Hmmm

This game is all but over. Miami was way overdue for a clunker. Big picture, this result doesn’t matter. They had to beat Clemson or they weren’t going to make it. But the optics are bad.
