The Power Rank is back with another round of SEC projections heading into a packed weekend of SEC action.

If you are unfamiliar with the Power Rank, it’s the creation of Stanford Ph.D. graduate and analytics expert Ed Feng. Feng uses his system to predict outcomes in professional and college sports.

The Power Rank does not project games against FCS opponents, yet it accurately predicts winners over 73 percent of the time.

The system went 3-0 predicting SEC games during Week 8.

Here is how The Power Rank predicts the Week 9 action to play out in the SEC:

  • Missouri will beat South Carolina by 1 point on the road. The Gamecocks have a 47 percent chance of winning this game.
  • Alabama will beat Kentucky by 22.4 points at home. The Wildcats have a 6 percent chance of winning this game.
  • Georgia will beat Mississippi State by 17 points at home. Mississippi State has a 12 percent chance of winning this game.
  • Auburn will beat Tennessee by 16.8 points at home. The Volunteers have a 12 percent chance of winning this game.
  • LSU will beat Arkansas by 19.3 points on the road. The Razorbacks have a 9 percent chance of winning this game.
  • Florida will beat Vanderbilt by 27.6 points on the road. The Commodores have a 4 percent chance of winning this game.

If you missed it, the Ole Miss vs. Texas A&M game was postponed due to the Aggies not having the required number of players ready to compete.
