Randy Shannon’s time as the Florida Gators’ (on-field) interim head coach has basically come to an end.
Saturday ended Florida’s disastrous season, and UF will be sitting at home during bowl season after finishing 4-7.
FSU beat the Gators Saturday 38-22, and the game was never really close, as Florida’s offense once again struggled mightily. That’s the first thing the Gators’ next head coach will have to fix … and fast.
But credit Randy Shannon, he handled everything with dignity and class throughout this whole process. He spoke to the media following the loss to FSU:

Shannon: “The next coach to come in has got to do it his way.”

Randy Shannon says the only thing that’s been talked about is him being the interim coach. Said no discussions of anything else. But added.
“I like Florida. It’s a unique, fun place.”

Shannon: “We’re still recruiting. We haven’t stopped recruiting…. that’s our job. The unknown sometimes steers you the wrong way but this staff is professional. We do things the right way.” #Gators
