Mizzou picked up its first road win of the season on Saturday night, beating Auburn 23-17 on the Plains.

Missouri trailed by a touchdown in the fourth quarter of this game, but was able to tie the game with an Ahmad Hardy touchdown run in the final stanza. It looked as though Mizzou would have a chance to win in regulation, but a Beau Pribula interception sent the game into overtime.

Auburn got the ball first in OT and ended up settling for a field goal — which missed. The last of three missed field goals for the Tigers proved to be too much. Mizzou also missed its field goal at the end of the first overtime, but Pribula led a touchdown drive on the next possession.

Auburn was unable to gain any meaningful momentum with its ensuing possession and ultimately turned the ball over on downs, giving Mizzou a much-needed victory.

Mizzou is now 6-1 on the season and is officially bowl-eligible. More than that, the Tigers will remain in strong contention for a College Football Playoff berth into November for a second year in a row.

Auburn, meanwhile, is now 0-4 in the SEC. Three of those 4 losses have been by just 1 possession, but the Tigers are running out of opportunities to pick up SEC wins and reach the postseason under Hugh Freeze.
