Rashad Torrence, Florida safety, announces plans for 2023 season

Rashad Torrence has been a steady contributor at the safety spot for Florida during his 3 seasons with the program.
However, he has taken his last snap as a member of the Gators. As you can see below, he announced on his Twitter account on Thursday evening that he would declare for the 2023 NFL Draft:

“Since I was 6 years old my dream has been to play collegiate football and I can’t think of a better place to play than The Swamp,” he wrote. “With all things considered, my ultimate goal is to play in the NFL on Sundays. After much prayer and guidance, I’ve decide[d] to forego my senior season, trust God’s plan for my life, and enter the 2023 NFL Draft.”
An Atlanta-area native, Torrence led the Gators with 84 tackles in 2022. In 2021, his 87 stops were 3rd on the team. He also added 3 interceptions and 3.5 tackles for a loss that year.
As a true freshman, the former 4-star recruit was an immediate contributor, starting 3 times in 2020 and playing in a total of 9 games while making 25 tackles.
“To be taught under the tutelage of two great head coaches, [Dan] Mullen and [Billy] Napier, I am forever grateful,” he wrote. “My coaches, [Todd] Grantham, [Ron] English, CrimeDawg (Wesley McGriff), and [Patrick] Toney have prepared me for this moment. Last but definitely not least, thank you to the LOYAL GAtor fans that have supported me from day 1.”
