Rece Davis calls out Oklahoma fans for booing Spencer Rattler

Oklahoma didn’t have its best day on Saturday, barely escaping with a 16-13 home win over an unranked West Virginia squad.
Things were so bad for the Oklahoma offense that at one point, fans were chanting to replace Spencer Rattler with the backup QB.
That didn’t sit right with ESPN broadcaster Rece Davis. Davis acknowledged that fans can say and yell whatever they want to, but he did explain why it actually hurts a team:
Look. Fans can say and yell what they want. But the Sooner fans chanting for the backup Qb in the first half aren’t helping their team. And they are helping those who recruit against them.

You’d better believe teams like Texas are going to show that video of Rattler getting booed to the next great quarterback prospect who wants to go to Oklahoma.
For now, though, we’ll see if Rattler and the Oklahoma offense can turn things around moving forward.
