Rece Davis has seemingly done a million College GameDay shows on ESPN with the legendary Lee Corso, but Saturday morning’s telecast from the Texas-Ohio State showdown in Columbus will be Corso’s last.

One more show — and 1 more headgear pick by the 90-year-old Corso, who has made the end-of-show feature must-see TV for decades now. The question of which headgear Corso would put on at the end of the show before the noon ET kickoffs was always on every viewer’s mind as noon creeped closer.

After Saturday morning’s show, there will be no more headgear picks. It will be Corso’s 431st headgear pick, a number that speaks to the longevity of Corso on the show and the popularity of the unique feature that was all his own. That headgear fixture was his own unique world, and according to Davis, who hosts GameDay, Saturday’s headgear pick will be the most unique one yet as Corso retires immediately after the show.

In other words, he’ll be going out in true Corso form — with a flair.

“I don’t know who he’s picking, but I know the actual structure of it will be different than anything we’ve ever done,” Davis told reporters on Friday, per Eleven Warriors.

Davis didn’t say just how Corso’s last headgear pick will be different from all the rest, but the pick will take place inside Ohio Stadium, which in itself will make the last pick unique.

Viewers will tune in to watch the leadup to the mega matchup between No. 1 Texas and No. 3 Ohio State, and they’ll be focused for one final time on the great Corso and that zany headgear pick.
