In a twist that will surprise most draft experts, Arkansas defensive back Tevin Mitchel has come off the board before interior defensive lineman Darius Philon.
Mitchel became the Razorbacks’ third defender selected on Saturday, joining Trey Flowers and Martrell Spaight. The Washington Redskins picked him in the sixth round at No. 182 overall.
Mitchel is Washington’s fifth pick from the SEC in this year’s draft. He’ll team back up at the next level with Spaight.
