Former Tennessee QB Peyton Manning became famous in the NFL for tinkering with formations and plays at the line of scrimmage.

He was allowed to do that, of course, because he was incredibly prepared. No one in the league worked harder than Manning, who demanded perfection from himself and his teammates.

Appearing on the NFL Network on Thursday, former Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne relayed a story about how Manning and the Indy receivers went seven years without dropping a pass on what Manning called “Perfect Fridays,” as you can see in the video below:

“There’s no one in this world that I know that prepares harder or better than Peyton Manning,” Wayne says in the video. “Take for example, on Fridays. It was called ‘Perfect Fridays.’ He would come out and he would kind of run the show for the beginning of Friday’s practice. He had his cue cards and he went through all the plays that he wanted to run, and I mean, it was nuts, the way he prepared that day, and it was to the fact that, we went for about seven years before anybody ever dropped a ball.”

That’s a lot of pressure to put on his teammates, but Manning demanded perfection. Now, he stands atop the career leaderboard in many of the NFL’s quarterback statistics and has two Super Bowl rings in his collection.
