Earlier this week, it was reported that Arkansas assistant Jeff Traylor was in the mix to be the next head coach at Stephen F. Austin.
Since that is his alma mater, the connection made sense, and it would have been a good job for Traylor.
However, on Friday, it was reported that Traylor has withdrawn his name from consideration and will remain on Chad Morris’s staff at Arkansas:

That’s obviously good news for Morris and the Hogs, as staff continuity will be a big key to improving next season.
The search continues at Stephen F. Austin, and for now, it won’t be Traylor heading back to his alma mater to lead the way.
