Citing sources, AL.com’s Brandon Marcello is reporting Auburn running back Kerryon Johnson will miss the majority of spring practice due to shoulder surgery.

Following Peyton Barber’s departure for the NFL Draft, Johnson is an important piece to Auburn’s offensive puzzle in 2016. Johnson, combined with Jovon Robinson and Roc Thomas, form a nice three-headed monster for the Tigers’ backfield. Thomas and Robinson are expected to be healthy for spring practice.

Johnson rushed for 208 yards as a freshman in 2015, while adding 14 catches for 159 yards.
