Former William & Mary RB Nate Evans was killed last week in Norfolk, Virginia, during a botched drug deal, according to The Virginian-Pilot.

The sophomore RB had been trying to do a drug deal with Kri-Shawn Del-Vante Beamon on March 21, per the report citing police. Police have arrested Beamon and charged him with second-degree murder, robbery and two gun-related counts.

Police found Beamon after they found his cell phone where Evans was killed. His car was also seen on surveillance video fleeing the scene.

Residents at the scene just before midnight heard multiple gunshots and saw a body, face down on the sidewalk. Evans was laying on the sidewalk when police arrived at the scene, and he sadly passed away at the scene.

The rising junior Evans had rushed for 684 yards and five TDs in 19 career games.
