As if the Battle at Bristol could get any bigger, ESPN’s College GameDay will be on location to cover the pregame lead up to the game – according to GameDay personalities Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fallica.

South Carolina’s 247Sports site The Big Spur was the first to report the news.

The Battle at Bristol is anticipating the largest crowd ever to witness a college football game with an estimated crowd around 150,000. Friday before the game, Kenny Chesney will be performing live for the fans who arrive a day early to Bristol.

While the turf has yet to be completely installed on the track of the speedway, some fans have voiced some concern regarding player safety while playing on the new surface – a concern the Battle at Bristol’s social media account alleviated earlier Thursday morning.

The Week 2 SEC vs. ACC showdown will be played Sept. 10 at 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast nationally on ABC.
