The ‘Battle at Bristol’ contest between Virginia Tech and Tennessee should truly be a great one.

Bristol Motor Speedways in Bristol, Tenn. sits nearly equidistant from both campuses. As geographic rivals, both programs should be very well represented.

Approximately 160,000 fans will be in attendance for this game — making it the largest expected crowd for a football game in history. To add to the pageantry, Kenny Chesney and The Band Perry will be performing prior to kickoff.

On Wednesday, crew members began laying the turf down for the Sep. 10 tilt. There’s a rumor LSU head coach Les Miles may be lurking somewhere within the grounds…potentially due to the lush and green nature of the turf.
