Report: ESPN wants to hire Nick Saban once his contract is up at Alabama

Nick Saban shows no sign of leaving college football coaching, but when he does, he can expect a job offer from ESPN.
Sports Illustrated sports media reporter Richard Deitsch tweeted recently that the Worldwide Leader already has its eyes on the Alabama coach.
From reporting within ESPN: There is no current coach ESPN would love to hire more than Nick Saban. Bet he'll be there after contract is up.

ESPN has made headlines recently for its massive cuts in on-air talent, but the above tweet indicates money won’t be an issue once Saban becomes a free agent. The folks in Bristol, however, will likely have to be patient, as Saban recently signed an extension with Alabama through the end of the 2024 season (Jan. 31, 2025). Saban has also negotiated for significant raises to his assistants, adding more incentive for him to say in Tuscaloosa.
It’s unknown if Saban has any interest in becoming a broadcaster after his coaching days are over. He served as a pregame analyst for ESPN’s coverage of the BCS Championship Game for the 2013 season between Auburn and Florida State.
