If you missed the news, Alabama announced an extension for head coach Nick Saban Tuesday. The three-year extension will keep Saban in Tuscaloosa through the 2024 season, and it puts his pay at an impressive $11.5 million for the 2017 season.

Even more unique will be the salaries earned by his assistants. Next season alone, the Alabama assistant coaching staff, including strength coach Scott Cochran, is scheduled to make $6.525 million. Saban wasn’t the only coach to receive a raise, as outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi received a huge bump from $550,000 to $950,000 – which is more than 46 FBS head coaches.

In only his second season on the job, defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt will receive a $300,000 raise, putting his total annual salary at $1.3 million.

Alabama’s well-renowned strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran was also given a 1-year extension to 2020, which will pay him $535,000 in 2017.
