According to a report by NOLA.com, Lance Faucheux of Metairie, Louisiana, is accused of slugging the coach of his son’s 7- and 8-year-old football team over playing time.

Faucheux was booked Tuesday and charged with battery of a schoolteacher or an athletic official, according to the arrest report.

A discussion turned heated after the father pulled the coach aside to chat about his son’s playing time. He ended up punching the coach in the jaw.

When other coaches tried to step in and separate the two men, Faucheux continued to fight. Thankfully, he left with his son and went home without doing further damage.

However, a deputy was there to meet him where he took him into custody. He was booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center, and he was released Tuesday on a $1,000 bond.

Is playing time that big of an issue for 7- and 8-year-olds? Get a grip, people.
