D’Ante Demery, a former 4-star OT in Georgia’s 2017 class, will be playing junior college football according to a new report. Demery signed with UGA on Feb. 1, but was released from his National Letter of Intent in April following an arrest for criminal trespassing and simple battery/family violence.
According to Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald, Demery will play at Hutchinson Community College this fall. Weiszer spoke to Hutchinson coach Rion Rhodes who says Demery is taking summer classes at the school and will be on the football team this fall.
On April 22, The mother of Demery’s then-one month child told police that the Brunswick High offensive lineman grabbed her by the neck and pushed her against a wall. Per Weiszer, Demery entered a plea of not guilty with a demand for a jury trial and a list of witnesses.
As a recruit, Demery was rated the No. 20 offensive tackle, No. 22 Georgia product and No. 204 overall recruit.
