Report: Former Alabama coach Avery Johnson interviewing for NBA assistant job

Avery Johnson’s tenure at Alabama didn’t go as well as many hoped, and it ended with him being let go after the 2018-19 season.
Now, the Crimson Tide have moved on to former Buffalo coach Nate Oats, and Johnson is looking for his next basketball job.
Per a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Johnson is being interviewed for an assistant job with the Philadelphia 76ers:
Avery Johnson is interviewing for a job on Brett Brown's staff with the 76ers, league sources tell ESPN. Johnson has previously been a head coach with Alabama, the Nets and Mavericks.

Johnson spent four years in Tuscaloosa, amassing a record of 75-62, losing in the first round of the NIT three times and making it to the second round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
Johnson spent the 2004 through 2012 seasons in the NBA, winning the NBA’s Coach of the Year award in 2006 with the Dallas Mavericks.
