Report: Former Georgia RB Elijah Holyfield nearing deal to play on NFL team’s practice squad

Former Georgia RB Elijah Holyfield went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft, but quickly signed with the Carolina Panthers.
After spending the 2019 season on the Panthers’ practice squad, he ended up with the Philadelphia Eagles in December. However, he didn’t make the 53-man roster and was cut on Thursday.
Now, though, according to an Eagles insider, Holyfield is in the process of signing with the team’s practice squad, once he completes a COVID-19 test:

Holyfield appeared in some preseason games for the Panthers, but has yet to make his NFL regular-season debut.
Will he get that chance with the Eagles this year? Or, will he remain on the practice squad for the time being?
