Former Tennessee LB A.J. Johnson was reportedly arrested in Knoxville on early Saturday morning, according to WATE ABC 6.

Citing a police report, WATE says that a KPD officer observed Johnson’s vehicle sit through two full light cycles at the intersection of Kingston Pike and Neyland Drive. When the officer approached the vehicle to do a welfare check on the driver, he said that the vehicle began to roll forward, eventually striking a sign.

The KPD officer noted Johnson’s eyes were bloodshot and that a marijuana cigarette was in plain sight. Johnson admitted to having been smoking and also said he had been drinking earlier in the day.

Johnson performed poorly on a field sobriety test before being taken into custody. The former Volunteer played from 2011-14, but was suspended in November 2014 when he was accused of rape, a case which is ongoing.
