Much like Nick Saban’s Alabama coaching staffs over the years, with much success naturally comes some turnover. The same is true in Athens as Kirby Smart has reportedly lost another member of his Georgia coaching staff to a promotion.

According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, defensive quality control coach Jay Valai is leaving Georgia for the Kansas City Chiefs. Valai has been on Georgia’s staff since March of 2016.

Here’s what Rittenberg posted on Valai over at ESPN.com:

Georgia quality control coach Jay Valai is joining the Kansas City Chiefs coaching staff. Valai, who has been recruiting for Georgia for the past few weeks, will be a defensive quality control coach and work with the Chiefs defensive backs.

Valai is a graduate of Wisconsin, having played safety for the Badgers from 2007-2010. His Twitter account has yet to reflect any potential move to the NFL at this time.
