Citing a source, the Athens Banner-Herald is reporting that Georgia fifth-year senior OL Greg Pyke had surgery for appendicitis on Monday.

The recovery isn’t expected to threaten to keep him out of Week 1’s matchup against North Carolina in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game.

Pyke was recently voted Preseason All-SEC by the media last Thursday, and he’s made 23 starts at offensive guard during his career.

The Bulldogs are somewhat banged up entering fall camp. Kirby Smart is still unsure about the status of running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel; so, the Bulldogs’ running game will be under the microscope as the first week nears.
