Georgia’s top-ranked recruiting class has apparently taken a hit as defensive lineman Tramel Walthour will reportedly head to junior college instead of enrolling in Athens.

The 6-foot-4, 277-pound Walthour was rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 48 defensive tackle and the No. 65 overall prospect from the Peach State in the 2018 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. He signed with UGA over scholarship offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Tennessee and Ohio State among others.

News of Walthour’s status was first reported by Kipp Adams of 247Sports. This development leaves Georgia with three additions on the defensive line in the 2018 recruiting class.

According to Hutchinson Community College head coach Rion Rhoades, Walthour is scheduled to arrive at the Kansas community college in July.
