Knile Davis’ stay in Green Bay was a short one.

The Packers on Monday reportedly released the former Arkansas running back after trading for him Oct. 18. Green Bay was in need of more bodies in its injury-depleted backfield, making the move to pick up Davis from Kansas City before its Thursday night game against Chicago.

But Davis rushed only six times for three years and caught four passes for 18 yards in two games for the Packers. He had accumulated three touches for 12 yards with the Chiefs before the trade.

Davis’ best season was in 2014, his second year in the league, when he gained 463 yards and scored six touchdowns with the Chiefs.
