The Hawaii program has reportedly been struck with some very unfortunate news as freshman defensive lineman Kalepo Naotala was injured after hitting his head while diving into the ocean.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser is reporting that the Virginia native injured his head soon after diving from a wall near Waikiki Beach Saturday. He has been listed in serious condition after being taken to a local hospital.

Naotala has yet to take the field for the Warriors, as he sat out last season after graduating high school in 2016. Naotala was a participant in the 2016 Polynesian All-American Bowl following an all-conference high school career.
