Report: LSU’s Board of Supervisors defer notion to increase Les Miles’ postseason incentive

LSU Athletics Committee met Friday to vote on an incentive boost for head coach Les Miles. However, the committee deferred the motion, according to TigerRag’s Cody Worsham.
The vote was to increase Miles’ postseason incentive from $100,000 to $200,000, but it was tabled for a later date … and rather quickly.
Hmm. LSU Athletics Commitee defers the motion to increase Les Miles' $100,000 postseason incentive to $200,000. Will address later in year.

LSU's Board of Supervisors was supposed to vote on amending Les Miles' contract to add $100,000 in incentive pay. They deferred the motion.

It's how they deferred that intrigued me. Miles not mentioned by name, and an unnecessary motion to defer was loudly spoken.

As you can see from the video, Miles wasn’t mentioned by name, and they hopped to item No. 2 rather quickly.
The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger noted that the incentive was proposed only because of the extra game to LSU’s potential schedule with the addition of the College Football Playoff.
Weird. The incentive was proposed only because of the extra game to #LSU's potential schedule with addition of CFP. https://t.co/H3dpbdvZK6

When you’re making over $4 million per year, a $100,000 non-bonus increase is rather chump change.
What does it all mean? Probably not much. However, things are going to get a bit interesting for LSU and Miles if the season continues on its current path.
The Tigers were favored against Wisconsin, but LSU left Green Bay 0-1 to start the season. Now, LSU will try and get its first win at home against Jacksonville State Saturday.
Perhaps the additional $100,000 bonus may come into play after all should LSU win out.
