Tim Tebow is getting a promotion of sorts this spring.
After ending the previous season playing at the High A level, the former Florida quarterback is expected to begin the 2018 season at the Double A level according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.
Tebow hit .226 with a .656 OPS last season at the A level of the Mets organization. Tebow has been given an opportunity to play with the Mets big league team this spring and has registered some eye-gouging stats. He’s gone one for 18 at the plate, (.056 average) with 11 strikeouts.
The Mets’ Double A affiliate is the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.
Mets plan to announce that Tim Tebow will start the season at Double-A Binghamton.
