If there’s one thing we’ve learned during the return to sports amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s that bubbles work.

The NWSL, MLS, NBA and WNBA have all successfully used bubbles and have prevented outbreaks of the virus among players.

Though it will be much tougher for colleges to employ bubble systems, college basketball insider Jon Rothstein tweeted out that he’s heard the NBA’s Orlando bubble is being strongly considered as a potential host site for early season tournaments:

The NBA Finals are supposed to wrap up by early October, so the bubble courts should theoretically be open should college tournaments want to use them.

It will be interesting to see what happens moving forward, but this is probably a good idea to keep players safe as they try to play a season.
