Right now, it’s too early to tell if the start of the college basketball season will be delayed amid the COVID-19 pandemic or not.

That will likely determine how the country handles the next couple of months and how the plans to play college football starting next month pan out.

But, according to CBS Sports reporter Matt Norlander, the NCAA is already starting the basketball discussion and is considering 4 possible options for the start of the men’s and women’s basketball seasons:

Option 1

First practices allowed: Sept. 29
First day of season: Nov. 10 (No change to start of season)

Option 2

First practices allowed: Oct. 9
First day of season: Nov. 20

Option 3

First practices allowed: Oct. 14
First day of season: Nov. 25

Option 4

First practices allowed: Oct. 24
First day of season: Dec. 4

Norlander notes that those dates aren’t necessarily the only dates the NCAA will consider, but they’re the ones in the mix right now.

We’ll see what happens as football gets started in September.
