Will Jimbo Fisher leave Florida State to become LSU’s next head coach?
That’s the question surrounding the championship-winning coach as his team prepares to face rival Florida on Saturday.
247Sports took an anonymous poll of 17 assistant coaches from around the country to see what they thought Fisher’s next move should be and the results were decisive.
Of the 17 coaches surveyed, 14 think Fisher will bolt for Baton Rouge. Only two believe Fisher should stay and the other coach was undecided.
One of the most decisive answers came from a MAC assistant, who said LSU is poised to win now:
“He’s gonna go, it will happen Sunday. He’s an SEC guy and Saban isn’t going to be around long. LSU is a place he can win right now and get it done. You may want to get a hot board together for FSU.”
Florida State’s regular season ends on Saturday against the Gators. If the MAC assistant is correct, Fisher will be on his way to LSU by Sunday.
