Nick Saban is working at a rapid pace to fill the open spots on his Alabama coaching staff.

Following Friday morning news of Mike Locksley being promoted to the full-time offensive coordinator role in Tuscaloosa, multiple reports claim Alabama is expected to hire Penn State receivers coach Josh Gattis as the team’s new co-offensive coorindator. Locksley held the co-OC title with the team last season.

Gattis held the roles of passing game coordinator and assistant special teams coordinator in addition to receivers coach in Happy Valley last season.

FootballScoop was the first to report the news and was quickly followed up by Sports Illustrated’s Bruce Feldman. Gattis has been with James Franklin for six seasons, spanning all the way back to his time in Nashville coaching at Vanderbilt.
