Rex Ryan has a sense of humor about the fact that one of his attractions outside the mainstream made headlines years ago. On Monday, that sense of humor took ESPN’s “Get Up” morning show off the rails for a bit.

Kadarius Toney’s costly offsides penalty in Sunday’s Chiefs-Bills game is the talk of the sports world. Ryan, Mike Greenberg and Ryan Clark were discussing Toney’s mistake on Monday’s show when things took a turn.

Clark mused over Ryan saying Toney lining up in the neutral zone was a toe he didn’t like. Ryan fully embraced the reference to his personal life.

“You know I like toes, I don’t like this toe,” Ryan said. From there, Greenberg and Clark could not avoid laughing, hiding their faces from the cameras.

Clark had to get in one more quip before the show moved on.

“Hey, Kadarius Toney, if you turn Rex against feet, you a bad man,” Clark said, cracking up.
