Rhyne Howard, former Wildcat, wins Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year Award

Rhyne Howard is less than 10 days removed from being named the WNBA Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press. Thursday, Howard won the official award from the league for 2022’s top rookie.
Howard was a standout guard at Kentucky, eventually becoming the Wildcats’ first No. 1 overall selection in program history. She kept up her stardom in the WNBA, averaging 16.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game for the Atlanta Dream. She led all rookies in all three categories across the league.

The 6-foot-2 guard hails from Cleveland, Tennessee and averaged an absurd 20.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game her senior season with the Wildcats.
