Tennessee set to face former Rick Barnes assistant during upcoming non-conference schedule

Tennessee is reportedly adding an interesting in-state matchup to the team’s upcoming non-conference slate as Rick Barnes and company will be seeing a familiar face in the coming basketball season.
Tennessee is set to host East Tennessee State next season, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
If you missed it, former Tennessee assistant coach Desmond Oliver was named the new head coach of the East Tennessee State basketball program this offseason.
ETSU’s decision to hire Oliver comes after he served six seasons on Rocky Top under Barnes. ETSU went 13-12 last season under former coach, Jason Shay.
