Former four-star quarterback Ricky Town has put himself in an odd position.
The 2015 Southern California signee has already decided he’s transferring from the university. Town was not at practice Sunday, and the Los Angeles Daily news reported that Town has struggled during practice.
Town was a former Alabama commit who didn’t remain committed too much longer after Lane Kiffin was hired. So, the Crimson Tide started chasing five-star quarterback Blake Barnett. Barnett was rated the country’s No. 2 pro-style quarterback in the country for the 2015 recruiting cycle, as well as the No. 5 overall prospect in the state of California. Town was rated the No. 6 pro-style quarterback and the No. 14 overall player in California.
Now, because of NCAA rules, Town will have to sit out the 2015 season wherever he transfers. Meanwhile, Barnett is throwing footballs 70 yards and through uprights.
On a different note, Yahoo.com’s NFL insider Charles Robinson tweeted that Florida could be a potential landing spot for the elite signal caller.
Florida #Gators could be potential target for USC #Trojans QB transfer Ricky Town. Had a great recruiting relationship w/ OC Doug Nussmeier.
