Young’s 2nd tier features SEC powerhouses Alabama and Georgia, his 3rd tier is another 2-team combo in Michigan and Clemson, and Tier 4 is a quartet that consists of Penn State, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and USC.
The Buckeyes are ranked 2nd in the AP poll, led by quarterback CJ Stroud, who is a Heisman Trophy favorite.
Quarterback Stetson Bennett and Georgia hold the top spot in the AP poll after Alabama got bumped off the top of the poll for the 2nd time this season following its escape-act victory over Texas A&M. The Crimson Tide are ranked 3rd in the AP poll now, followed by Clemson and Michigan at No. 4 and 5, respectively.
Quarterback Hendon Hooker and the Volunteers are ranked 6th going into their titanic showdown against Alabama at Neyland Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Rounding out the top 10 of the AP poll is No. 7 USC, No. 8 Oklahoma State, No. 9 Ole Miss and No. 10 Penn State, so Young’s tiers list that consists of 9 teams is just about in lock step with the poll.
But Young is going with Stroud and the Buckeyes at the top of his list, for now at least.
