Florida was eliminated from SEC East contention following last weekend’s heartbreaking loss to South Carolina which ultimately led to Will Muschamp’s resignation the following day. Mizzou and Georgia, much like its been throughout the season, are the two teams left standing with two weeks remaining. The Tigers control their own destiny while the Bulldogs play cheerleader:

MIZZOU (8-2, 5-1)
CHANCES AT WINNING THE EAST: High
REMAINING SEC GAMES: at Tennessee, Saturday; vs. Arkansas, Nov. 28
VERDICT: Win and you’re in. Mizzou passed the first test at Texas A&M and now travel to Knoxville to battle a team that’s getting hot at the right time with Joshua Dobbs at quarterback. Tennessee’s playing for bowl eligibility hoping to end Mizzou’s four-game win streak. The 20th-ranked Tigers could reach a New Year’s Six bowl game by winning out then beating the SEC West champ in Atlanta.
GEORGIA (8-2, 6-2)
CHANCES AT WINNING THE EAST: High
REMAINING SEC GAMES: None
VERDICT: With the SEC schedule complete following last weekend’s emphatic win over Auburn, the Bulldogs will sit back and watch Mizzou’s final two games as Vols and Razorbacks fans, much like South Carolina did last season when the Tigers beat Ole Miss and Texas A&M to clinch the division. Mark Richt’s hoping the loss to Florida doesn’t come back to haunt his football team since the Bulldogs hold the head-to-head edge over the Tigers.
