Arguably the hottest name in the world of college football coaching right now is Scott Frost. While he’s only been a head coach for less than two full seasons, Frost’s UCF team currently leads the nation in scoring offense as the Knights are averaging 51 points per game thus far in 2017.

Not bad considering UCF was 0-12 the season before Frost arrived.

Making his candidacy all the more appealing to any job openings around the country, his buyout is only $3 million according to Football Scoop, which is significantly lower than the vast majority of candidates many are eager to name as up and comers in the profession.

While it’s easy to name Frost a candidate for any and all openings that may arise, few consider how difficult that makes his current situation at UCF. That’s something Frost addressed Thursday morning while making an appearance on 96.9 The Game in Orlando.

Here’s what Frost had to say when asked if the coaching rumors ever get annoying:

“I got my head down. My focus is on this game,” Frost said on the air. “My focus on my wife getting ready to have my first child. There’s just not time to think about that stuff. There’s a time to think about that stuff. It’s not now. It really doesn’t come in front of me. I want to give these players everything I can.”

“The rumors have gotten out of hand because of fans and social media. What used to be rumors is now splashed out there for everyone to see. It can be a huge distraction if you let it be.”

UCF is currently 7-0, ranked No. 18 in the CFP poll, and travels to a 6-2 SMU team this week. In an ironic twist, SMU just so happens to be coached by another hot coaching candidate in Chad Morris. If your school has an opening or is likely to have one in the near future, Saturday’s game might just be worth tuning in for, one of these guys could be taking over your program in a few weeks.
