The No. 9 Texas Longhorns are set for a massive road test this Saturday in The Swamp against the Florida Gators, a game that carries significant implications for both teams and their respective seasons.

Vegas recognizes the stakes involved for both sides, which is why the spread is currently set at 6.5 points in favor of the Arch Manning and the Longhorns.

ESPN analyst and SportsCenter host Scott Van Pelt discussed the primetime meeting between Florida and Texas on his weekly college football Winners segment, and he took the Gators against the spread at home.

“Alright, Gators, it’s come to this,” Van Pelt said. “You won’t be dead to me if it doesn’t work this week because I married into it. But you’re in big trouble, or something, if you don’t keep it tight with Texas in town. Remember Arch’s first road game? Woof. The Gators’ defense is awfully tough, too.”

Given the struggles Arch and the rest of Texas’ offense have had so far, it’s possible that they will find similar trouble moving the ball on a very stout Gators’ defense in one of the most hostile environments in the sport.

Another wrinkle here is that Florida head coach Billy Napier is also skating on razor-thin ice when it comes to job security. A win would go a long way toward helping Napier remain in Gainesville.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
