Week 6 of SEC play featured elite performances from some of the best players in the conference, and several of these players just picked up Player of the Week honors for their play on the field.

Leading the way is Florida Gators quarterback DJ Lagway, who was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week for his 298-yard, 2-touchdown showing in the Gators’ upset win over the then No. 9-ranked Texas Longhorns.

Alabama Crimson Tide and Texas A&M Aggies linebackers Justin Jefferson and Daymion Sanford were named as SEC co-Defensive Players of the Week for their respective performances against Vanderbilt and Mississippi State.

Oklahoma placekicker Tate Sandell and Florida wideout Taylor Spierto picked up the nod as SEC co-Special Teams Players of the Week for their showings against Kent State and Texas, with Sandell going a perfect 3 for 3 on field goals and 5 for 5 on extra points against Kent State, while Spierto made multiple big plays against the Longhorns.

Alabama’s Parker Brailsford picked up the nod as SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week, while Texas A&M defensive end Cashius Howell was named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week.

Finally, Gators’ wide receiver Dallas Wilson picked up SEC Freshman of the Week honors for his 6 reception, 111-yard, 2 touchdown performance against Texas, and was arguably the key to their massive upset win.
