Two SEC teams in the top four? In basketball? That’s right.
ESPN’s Dick Vitale ranked No. 2 Kentucky and No. 3 Tennessee in his top four for the 2018-19 season. Joining the SEC duo were No. 1 Kansas and No. 4 Duke.
Vitale’s tweet came in response to CBS Sports’ Gary Parrish’s indecision on picking either Kansas or Kentucky No. 1.

Kentucky returns and adds a ridiculous embarrassment of riches that have both experience and talent. PJ Washington, Nick Richards and Quade Green are all returning, while the Cats add Stanford transfer Reid Travis. Kentucky also adds four 5-star signees in EJ Montgomery, Ashton Hagans, Keldon Johnson and Immanuel Quickley, along with 4-star guard Tyler Herro.
Tennessee returns all five starters, including SEC Player of the Year Grant Williams. No doubt the Vols will be loaded with experience, and there’s plenty of reasons why the Vols could cut down the nets this coming season.
