The final month of the 2023 college football regular season is almost here. Week 9 is in the books, and ESPN has updated its power rankings.
The final October Saturday of the season was a good one for the SEC’s top teams. Six conference squads remain in the latest top 25, as was the case last week.
As expected, the Dawgs are still on top. Georgia is No. 1 for another week in the ESPN staff writers’ rankings after a lopsided win over Florida.
Alabama was on a bye in Week 9, but the Crimson Tide moved up 1 spot to No. 8. There was plenty of shuffling around UA, with Oklahoma checking in at No. 9 after losing for the first time this season.
Ole Miss is quietly still in the mix as a 1-loss team. The Rebels moved up to No. 10 in ESPN’s latest power rankings after defeating Vanderbilt to get to 7-1.
It was also a good week for Tiger teams on a bye. LSU moved up 2 spots to No. 13, with Mizzou right behind at No. 14. Tennessee’s win over Kentucky was good for 5 spots. The Vols are now No. 17 in the power rankings.
Here’s where the SEC teams are ranked in the latest ESPN power rankings:
- No. 1 Georgia
- No. 8 Alabama
- No. 10 Ole Miss
- No. 13 LSU
- No. 14 Mizzou
- No. 17 Tennessee
