SEC lands 8 assistant coaches on Rivals’ list of top 25 individual 2018 recruiters

There’s an old saying that a head coach is only as good as the assistants he puts around him. Apparently, that saying also applies to a coach’s recruiting ability, as Kirby Smart is the only SEC coach to land multiple coaches on this list.
With the 2018 recruiting cycle now behind us, Rivals has unveiled its list of the nation’s top 25 individual recruiters. After taking head coaches out of the equation, the SEC managed to place eight assistants among Rivals’ top 25 list — including the top two and three of the top four.
Here’s every SEC assistant coach to make the list in 2018:

- #2 Tim Brewster – Texas A&M
- #4 Kodi Burns – Auburn
- #15 Joe Pannunzio – Alabama
- #16 Jacob Peeler – Ole Miss
- #17 Sam Pittman – Georgia
- #22 Mel Tucker – Georgia
- #24 Eric Wolford – South Carolina
