Twelve SEC standouts have been recognized as 2023 All-Americans by the Football Writers Association of America. The SEC had 5 representatives on the first team, trailing the Big Ten and Pac-12, which each had 6. The SEC led all conferences in second-team selections (7) and combined selections (12).

Georgia and Missouri join Michigan, Washington, Iowa and Notre Dame as teams with 3 selections. With 18 selections, the 6 schools account for one-third of the roster.

Bulldog TE Brock Bowers is 1 of 7 returning All-Americans. Georgia’s 9 All-Americans the last 3 seasons is the FBS’ best 3-year total since Alabama and Oklahoma each had 10 from 2016-18.

Mizzou has 3 selections in the same season for the first time in program history. Cody Schrader is the Tigers’ first FWAA All-American at running back since 1965 (Johnny Roland).

With Alabama’s 2 selections, the Crimson Tide extends its streak of an All-American every season since 2008. Linebacker Dallas Turner made the first team while lineman JC Latham is a second-team selection.

LSU’s quarterback-receiver combo Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabers are the Tigers’ first selections since 2020. Daniels was named the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner on Saturday.
