The announcement comes ahead of the new Sunday rankings from the Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25, but it’s safe to say the Tigers and Aggies will both be ranked when they tangle at Kyle Field.
Mizzou entered Week 5 No. 11 in the AP Top 25. The Tigers were off in Week 5, and have wins over Murray State, Buffalo, Boston College and Vanderbilt on the season.
Texas A&M should move up in the rankings after a Week 5 win over Arkansas in the Southwest Classic at the home of the Dallas Cowboys. The Aggies are now 4-1, losing the season-opener to Notre Dame, but since defeating McNeese, Florida, Bowling Green and Arkansas to get back on track.
Mizzou and Texas A&M were members of the Big 12 who joined the SEC in 2012. Their series dates back to 1957, but there have only been 16 meetings. Texas A&M holds a 9-7 advantage after the most recent meeting, a 35-14 game that went to the Aggies in Columbia.
SEC Nation debuted on August 28, 2014. Laura Rutledge hosts the show for her eighth season, her ninth on the show overall, and is joined by Tim Tebow, Paul Finebaum, Jordan Rodgers and Roman Harper. Marty and McGee, hosted by Marty Smith and Ryan McGee, begins the on-campus festivities at 8 a.m. CT/9 a.m. ET, with SEC Nation following from 9 a.m. CT/10 a.m. ET for 2 hours.
Saturday’s showdown is set for an early 11 a.m. CT/noon ET kickoff from Kyle Field. The game will air on ABC.
