SEC Nation is heading to T-Town for the Week 9 showdown between Alabama and Missouri, 2 teams that have struggled in recent weeks as they desperately try to hang onto their College Football Playoff aspirations.
The SEC Network pregame show announced on Sunday morning that it’s heading to Tuscaloosa for the battle between the Crimson Tide and Tigers. Meanwhile, it was also announced on Sunday morning that the game would kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC, as the showcase game received the popular 3:30 ABC window despite the teams trending downward coming into Saturday’s game.

Alabama dropped to 5-2 with a disappointing 24-17 loss at Tennessee in Week 8, as the Crimson Tide lost their 2nd game this season in the state of Tennessee after also falling at Vanderbilt. The Crimson Tide were ranked No. 1 just 3 short weeks ago after outlasting Georgia in an instant SEC classic, but have since lost 2 of their past 3 games, with the 1 win being a narrow escape at home against South Carolina.
Meanwhile, Missouri did improve to 6-1 in Week 8 but it took a monster 4th-quarter comeback for the Tigers to outlast lowly Auburn at home, 21-17. Mizzou has been struggling in recent weeks but has managed to stay in the conversation for the College Football Playoff.
Whoever wins the Week 9 showdown in T-Town should still be in that Playoff conversation, while the loser would probably be on the outside looking in.
